Dear Friends,
More than 20 years of trying to perfecting my golf swing remains an enigma until in 2002 when I first met Peter Croker in Hamburg. The Step-by-Step program is the finest example of Peter's hard work and enthusiasm. The foundation that teaches you basic building blocks. The 3 Levels disected in simple 15 steps is today the most complete guide on how to teach yourself a golf swing. Here, for the next few weeks I will start posting my success story with details on what I have gained through teaching my students and myself. Kitti -------------------- Kitti

Level 1 Step 1 THE GRIP
The more I spent time using the step-by-step program to teach my students, the clearer it become not to ignore the basic alignments. Started with how to grip the club correctly seems to be the "MUST DO" Most of my students will have the left hand gripped the club dominantly in the palm. Comfortable for most beginners and many long time golfers. This is the common error when left hand is hanging in front of the body when trying to grip the club. Regripping the club where left hand is hanging on the left side is new for many and very logical. Now, for the first time they felt comfortable gripping the club dominantly in the fingers of the left hand while maintaining the leading edge of the club face parallel to the left wrist. Exciting it is to have the first 2 alignments in place. Left hand wrist sitting on top, vertical and parallel to the leading edge. The line drawn on the left hand from the second knuckle joint of the index finger towards the first knuckle joint of the little finger was evident to everyone. The 2nd pressure point is now felt pushing the club head upwards starting from the left side of the body. -------------------- Kitti

Level 1 Step 1 THE GRIP
Still on the Grip! While gripping the left hand it is best to turn half way which will give me a clearer vision of my target. Now that I have gripped the club well lightly with left hand bent. It is time for my right hand to get involve. I use the overlapping grip to connect both hands with pressure point #1 to add to my confidence with right hand being flat at address. Having the right hand pushing against the side of the 2nd knuckle joint of the left thumb give me the "locked feeling." In the past it has never been my real concern until now. All the connecting process feel best and comfortable when grip end is pointing between the hips while shaft parallel to the ground and both elbows pointing towards the hips. This form the 3rd and 4th Alignments respectively. -------------------- Kitti

Level 1 Step 1
Bending towards ball is another simple way explained by Peter. Using pressure point #2 while holding the grip between the hips and standing on 1 foot (which would be my right foot) give me an ease on my back while tilting a little to the right. Now bending over would control my spine and give me the exact amount of body bent at the same time relaxing my knees. Would be now my 5th Alignment. The interesting thing would be I will have my club head falling right behind the ball while maintaining the pressure#2 and grip. Club face and body is now square and face the ball target line. My 6th Alignment. Now that I have my 6 major alignments during Set-up -- I'm sure that my grip is in place and align to my body before starting my swing. -------------------- Kitti
