The fascinating thing about Peter’s approach is that he has broken down the swing so well that it’s parts, together, work seemlessly. But taken as parts I found some just hard to “trust.” It’s a matter of always wanting to add something to it because it seems too simple, but when you just trust it and do it, you get remarkable results. And even THEN you have a hard time trusting it. It’s very interesting that so many parts come together so seemlessly in a dynamic swing, and with that the realizations. The dynamic swing is so different than the parts, but Peter has captured the way to dissect the parts to make them come together correctly in the swing. It’s like origami, the art of Japanese paper-folding. While you’re folding it, you just can’t see where it’s going. And then you grab two corners and pull and, voila, a parakeet! In retrospect you see how it works, but getting there is an adventure in just trusting the process and letting go your earlier conceptions. Shreff |
